Why do we do what we do?

Shield Group Team!

The Shield Group comprises two organisations: Shield Health Support and Shield Tuition. Both organisations are specifically aimed to help support veterans’ children in their academic endeavours. We help veteran families by advising them on their entitlements, helping complete their claims, and providing a quality health and tuition service.

Shield Group currently provide two main services for veteran children:

Allied Health Support & One on One Tutoring

Today, we are going to have a chat about our Allied Health Support service! But if you are interested in getting your child one on one school tutoring, you can do that here.

Many veteran families are unaware that they may be entitled to funding through the DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) for allied health support where their child’s health needs are getting in the way of their capacity to reach their full potential at school. Unfortunately, many children go undiagnosed with learning difficulties, or without support once they do finally get a diagnosis. Sadly, allied health support is not cheap. You are paying for a highly trained professional and as such, the bills can place significant strain on parents, especially veterans. The reality is though, you don’t want to be frugal when it comes to accessing health services. You want to make sure you get what you pay for!

However, if you are eligible then you may be entitled to receive up to $3,000 for your child’s health needs. This can get you a year of Occupational Therapy, a psychological assessment, or counselling.

We are able to provide veterans the best of both worlds. We help our veterans secure funding from the DVA to provide the support they need to access our allied health services. That way veterans are getting what they deserve for their child, and the child is getting high quality allied health services!

There are a few steps to jump through to access this funding, but we have got you covered!

This is your entitlement.
