Managing Director - Kye

Kye is currently a medical doctor in training, set to practice as a doctor in 2026. Having a background in the medical field gives Kye an appreciation for the complex needs of patients and how those needs impact a child’s education. Kye is excited to help address education from a health perspective to improve the educational outcomes of our veteran children.

Occupational Therapist - Katherine

In 2019, Katie completed a bachelor of Health Science and Master of Occupational Therapy. Katie is a passionate OT with comprehensive experience within the NDIS space. Katie is highly qualified to perform sensory assessments, functional capacity assessments and home assessments. She will review how learning conditions are impacting the schooling of our veteran children and provide recommendations about minimising the school and home barriers so our patients can thrive at school . She is highly experienced with telehealth delivery and completing comprehensive OT assessments, ensuring your kids have access to essential health care.

Registered Psychologist - Samar

In 2021, Samar completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours at the University of Newcastle. This is on a background of a Masters of Rehabilitation Counselling in 2020 at Griffith University. Samar is a specialist in psychological assessments providing comprehensive reports and administering essential cognitive assessments to help diagnose ADHD and ASD.

Director - Jesse

Jesse co-founded Shield Health Support, dedicated to improving the lives and educational opportunities for the children of veteran families. With a background in the Australian Army, Jesse has firsthand experience of the challenges these children face, particularly the disruptions caused by frequent relocations and overseas deployments inherent to the ADF life. He combines his understanding of the defence community with expertise in the legislation, policies, and procedures related to Education Schemes claims process. Jesse is passionate to ensuring that veteran families receive the support and resources they are entitled to.

Veteran Relationship Manager - Megan

Megan is our veteran relations manager helping veterans secure the funding for our health services. She has an extensive background working with Government; Megan was a Senior Advisor in Case Management for the Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors for QLD government. Megan has taken a step back to spend more time with her daughter, Charley. She has since become our veteran relationships manager, helping to oversee our DVA cases.
